Spa Care Basics
Here are some simple tips that will help keep your spa running strong for years to come.
- Spa Wood - Wood siding on the sides of your spa needs periodic treatment. Here in the desert we soak the use a linseed oil based deck stain to keep the wood from drying out. In wetter climates you may have a need for some wood sealer. But wherever you live the thin slats on the sides of your spa don't last forever without some attention.
- Spa Pack - Your spa pack is the brain of your spa. It controls all of the functions of the spa. If you are having issues with any of the features of the spa, such as circulating or heating, you may have a problem with your spa pack. We have made a Spa Pack Picker to help you find a suitable replacement that will work for your spa.
- Spa Cover - Caring for your spa cover will help it to last much longer. The first step in caring for your cover is simply to wash it with soap and water. After it is clean, it is worthwhile to apply some protection from the sun. We highly recommend a product called 303. It will greatly increase the life expectancy of your spa cover.
- Filter Cartridges - Give your cartridge a good soaking in some TSP or Filter Cleaner. If your filter cartridge is no longer white, is getting "fuzzy" from the fibers breaking down, or is more than about 2 years old, it is time to replace it. If you don't know the model number for your filter, you can take some measurements and use our Filter Cartridge Finder to locate the correct replacement.
